Dr Waismann's Profile
Dr. Waismann has been the world leader in the field of reversing opiate dependency since 1994.
He established the world’s first treatment center where opiate dependent patients are treated for their dependency with advanced medicine. In addition, the symptoms (withdrawal and cravings) are treated as a medical illness by qualified medical personnel including anesthetists and ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nurses.
Treatment is provided at a modern, general hospital in an effective and safe manner.
Initially, in 1993 he developed a new approach with a technique called UROD (Ultra Rapid Opiate Detoxification).
Dr. Waismann traveled the world to lecture, teach and introduce his revolutionary method which utilized Naltrexone (an opiate antagonist) and anesthesia. Soon after, variations of the method appeared at medical facilities worldwide.
By 1997 Dr. Waismann had treated thousands of patients in his clinic and the experience gathered allowed him to refine his technique, replacing the old Rapid Detox with his new procedure called Accelerated Neuroregulation or ANR.
Using the new advanced ANR treatment, the Waismann Clinic Team provides every patient with an individual treatment, according to their specific drug-dependency and medical history.
ANR efficiently cleanses the receptors reducing withdrawal syndrome to a period of hours instead of days. This happens while the patient is unconscious. The amount of receptor blockage required depends the level of dependency of each patient. This brings cravings to irrelevant levels when patients regain consciousness.
Patients are successfully treated for dependency on prescription opiate medications such as Methadone, Suboxone (Subutex), Vicodin®, Percocet®, Codeine, Oxycontin® and others.
Despite the fact that several clinics market various types of Rapid Detox treatments, Dr. Waismann performs the ANR procedure only at the Dr. Waismann Clinic in Israel, At the Barzilay Governmental Hospital.
Dr. Margolis
"This method is a brilliant solution for some of the drug addicts. The Ministry of Health has discussed the issue and decided to establish one or two departments in various hospitals in Israel, in which this method would be implemented. This may take some time; however, eventually it will definitely be carried out. As for Dr. Waismann, today he is the only doctor who is licensed by the Ministry of Health to treat patients using this method and indeed practices it. A few years ago Dr. Waismann approached us with an offer to assist in the matter but at the time this issue was not on the list of our priorities. It is possible that while establishing these departments we will seek the professional opinion of Dr. Waismann who has ample experience in this field." Your Wellbeing Is Our Only Concern
If you are considering an alternative rapid detox or Opiate addiction treatment, please ask the following questions:
- Who will carry out the procedure?
If it is not qualified anaesthetists and ICU staff, alarm bells should start to ring! - How long will I have to take Naltrexone after the procedure?
This can only be determined during the actual treatment. Each patient's needs differ. - What dosage of Naltrexone will I need to take?
Again, this can only be determined during the actual treatment and a predetermined dosage can lead to severe side effects.
